editmcskin is an independent fan site that makes Minecraft skins from a text description. Describe a character, such as “a frost mage with a glowing staff”, and AI paints a skin for it. Add a reference picture or skin to keep its face, hair and skin colour.

Edit the skin pixel by pixel in the 3D editor, then download it or save it to your account and share it in the gallery. Free tools can also split up to four skins into one, flip a skin upside down or turn any picture into a skin.

How it works

We send your prompt and a template of the skin layout to OpenAI's GPT Image 2.5, which paints the whole character. We then turn its image into an exact 64x64 or 128x128 (HD) skin file, filling gaps and clearing areas the game ignores. With a reference skin, its face, hair and skin colour are copied back exactly. Otherwise the outer layer is left empty for you to paint in the editor.

Credits

Each AI skin costs 1,000 credits, and new accounts get 1,000 free. Failed generations are refunded automatically, and credits never expire. Buy more on the pricing page.
